Coroner IDs Body Found In Fox River
The coroner has identified the man found dead Wednesday as Gustavo Guzman-Perez, 28, of McHenry, who has been missing for nearly two weeks.
MCHENRY, IL — The body of a man who was found floating in the Fox River Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Gustavo Guzman-Perez, 28, of McHenry.
A boater spotted the body just off the shore in the Fox River in the 2000 block of South Fernwood Lane at around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, and the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and McHenry County Coroner's Office were called to the scene to investigate the death.
On Thursday afternoon, the coroner's office identified the man as Guzman-Perez, who has reported missing nearly two weeks ago. An autopsy was also performed but a cause of death has not yet been released.

Guzman-Perez, 28, was reported missing on April 22 and was last seen in the 3000 block of West Virginia Avenue in the McHenry Country Club subdivision.
The McHenry Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call the McHenry Police Department at 815-363-2200 or its criminal investigation division at 815-363-2599.
