Cancer Fundraiser At Nick's Pizza On November 9

Family and friends and even strangers will come together at Nick's Pizza in Crystal Lake on Thursday, November 9, for Kathy Kloiber Pacana from 4-10 p.m. Kathy has recently been diagnosed with cancer and this event is to help her and her family with growing medical bills.

Kendra Boyer Chesney says: "Kathy and her family have resided in Lake In The Hills for 17 years. She has been a member of our District 158 Early Childhood Family for over 10 years. She also has worked at Boulder Ridge for 7 years. Her family attends St. Mary's in Huntley and her husband currently works with the Huntley Park District."

Kathy grew up on the northwest side of Chicago where she went to grade school at Queen of All Saints and high school at Good Counsel, followed by St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana. Her childhood friend Donna Dolan Hansen says: "I know we are all proud of the lifelong friendships that started way back in kindergarten. Our bonds are still as strong today as they were years ago as we ran through the halls of (our grade school) Queens, or waited impatiently for a turn on the swings, or got muddy playing on the field during recess. Although we may not see each other as often as we'd like, or talk on the phone like we did back in the day, our ties to each other have lasted pretty much our entire lives."

Nick's Pizza and Pub says: "On Thursday, November 9th, Nick’s will be donating 100% of the day’s Net Profit to benefit Kathy Pacana and her family. Kathy is battling cancer and needs our support. These funds will be used for medical bills as she continues her fight. Please join our team and show your support by enjoying a meal for a great cause at our Crystal Lake restaurant (either Dine-in or Carry Out) any time from 4 pm to 10 pm."
