Candlelight Night Ski This Weekend In McHenry Co.
The McHenry County Conservation District will host the event on Friday and Saturday at Coral Woods Conservation Area.

CRYSTAL LAKE-CARY, IL - From McHenry County Conservation District: Discover the beauty of a crisp, winter evening through woodland trails lit only by candlelight. McHenry County Conservation District will host a Candlelight Night Ski, Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 from 5–9 p.m. at Coral Woods Conservation Area, 7400 Somerset Dr., Marengo. Note: changes in weather and trail conditions this week may shift the event from a ski to a hike. Each evening might be different. Check MCCDistrict.org for latest trail conditions or like us on Facebook for event updates.
Bring your own skis and test your skills along the 1 mile looped trail. Skiers of every level and age are invited. Drop in anytime for this free activity. Get some fresh air, exercise, and enjoy the frosty night with hot chocolate and snacks around the campfire. No pets, please.
Save the Date: an additional Candlelight Hike/Cross Country Ski is scheduled for February 9 and 10 at Harrison Benwell in Wonder Lake.

Enjoy Night Skiing/Hiking? Did you know you can ski/hike every night until 9 p.m. on solar lit trails at Pleasant Valley Conservation Area in Woodstock, (1/2 mile loop through prairie) and at Hickory Grove Highlands in Cary (a 1 mile looped trail through the wooded savanna). These trails are open late during standard time. After March 11, 2018 sites close at sunset.
