Cary-Grove to Play Prairie Ridge in Season Opener Friday

The teams will kick off at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Two local high school football teams will square off Friday night.

Cary-Grove was the Class 7A state runner-up last year and had 13-1 overall record for the season. The Trojans have made it to the playoffs the past 11 seasons and the team doesn’t expect anything different for the 2015 season, according to the Northwest Herald.

Cary-Grove will be facing the new season down 16 starters after several of the team’s key players graduated last spring.

Prairie Ridge, co-champions of the FVC Fox, is coming off 6-4 season, according to the Northwest Herald.

Prairie Ridge Coach Chris Schremp said Friday’s game against Cary-Grove should give his team a good idea of where they stand for the 2015 season.

“We can’t go into the season thinking Weak 1 is a make or break,” Schremp told the Northwest Herald. “Probably the best thing about playing Cary (in) Week 1 is when you come out of that game you really know, how good of a team area we?”

Kick-off is 7:15 p.m. Friday at Cary-Grove High School. You can watch the game via High School Cube below by tuning in Friday evening.
