Cary-Grove Tennis Camp
Cary-Grove will be hosting its annual tennis camp between June 9th - 25th. Camp is open to boys and girls of all ages and ability.
Looking for something fun this June? How about Tennis Camp?
Cary-Grove Tennis Camp will take place at the high school during June again this summer. The week of June 8th and 15th are for high school players, and the week of June 22nd is for 1st & 2nd, 3rd - 5th, and Junior High students. The camps are co-ed and open to all regardless of skill level. With 10 tennis courts and a committment to a ratio of one instructor per four campers, kids at camp will receive individual instruction and will be grouped with players in their own ability level.
Coaches Amanda Schuetzle and David Cook have seen camps grow in numbers in recent years, with over 100 kids coming to camps in each of the last three summers. Players will learn from high school coaches and former varsity players who serve as the court instructors. It’s been exciting to see the increasing number learning to play tennis.
Players are challenged to improve on forehands, backhands, volleys, overheads, serves, as well as understanding of the game. And beyond what kids learn at camp, they’ll meet dozens of others their age who are learning to play tennis. The tennis courts are open to the public when camp is not in session, and it’s not uncommon to see kids who just recently attended camp connecting with other campers.
