Cary Man Says 'I Have AIDS,' Bites Officer: Police
Christopher J. Seerden remains in custody on a $40,000 bail following the June incident.

CARY, IL — A 37-year-old Cary man who allegedly informed police he had AIDS, and asked if an officer also wanted AIDs before biting him in the leg, now faces charges in McHenry County. Christopher J. Seerden is in custody at the McHenry County Jail on a $40,000 bail and is next expected in court later this month in regards to the June 19 exchange between himself and a Cary Police Department officer.
Authorities said they were called to Seerden's home for a well-being check at about 8:19 p.m. on June 19 and, during that visit, Seerden is accused of kicking and swinging at an officer, according to the Northwest Herald. He announced "he had AIDS" and bit the officer, police said. The bite did not leave a mark or break the officer's skin, authorities told the Northwest Herald.
Seerden was taken into custody in October after authorities received copies of his medical records and learned he was HIV positive, according to the news report.
