Cary Mayor: 'We Will Not Require Any Proof Of Vaccine'
What do you think: Should vaccines be required for entrance to businesses in Crystal Lake and Cary? Sound off in our survey.

CRYSTAL LAKE AND CARY, IL — Mayor Mark Kownick says the village of Cary has no plans to require residents show proof that they've been vaccinated in order to enter businesses in town.
"We will not be requiring any proof of vaccine," Kownick told Patch in an email response.
Highland Park is requiring residents show proof of vaccination to enter bars and restaurants. The mayor's office handle complaints and enforcement, rather than the police department or the county health department. Similar vaccine proof mandates are also in place in the city of Chicago and suburban Cook County.

"At that time, I envisioned living here for the next 20 years or so until all of my kids were out of high school ... The vaccine mandate will not convince anyone who is not vaccinated to give in. There are people like me who are so morally opposed to it we will stay home or go to different counties," she said. "My husband and I have deced if this mandate hits McHenry County this will be our final straw.
"How many others do you believe are discussing the same option?" she added.
