MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A Cary teen who admitted to causing the DUI crash that killed a 16-year-old McHenry West High School student will not be headed to prison after a Lake County judge sentenced him to probation and 20 months of periodic imprisonment this past week, the Daily Herald reports. Caleb R. Rohrbach pleaded guilty Wednesday to an aggravated driving under the influence charge and two counts of aggravated reckless driving.

The first 20 months of periodic imprisonment for Rohrbach will include electronic home monitoring. Lake County Judge Mark Levitt also sentenced him to 48 months of probation and 200 hours of community service, according to the article.

Authorities said Rohrbach had marijuana in his system when the black Hyundai Elantra he was driving south on Route 12 near Case Road in Wauconda on March 16 crossed the centerline, according to the Daily Herald. The car collided head on with a gray Ford Focus, which was driven by Danielle Thomas.
