Mark your calendars! Free Comic Book Day is almost here! On May 2nd, Modern Age Comicsat 2214 E. Algonquin Rd. will be celebrating this fan-based event with a variety of special events. “I’m thrilled to announce that comic book artist Tim Seeley will be here,” says owner Edgar Ramos. “His incredible talent can be found in ‘GI Joe,’ ‘Nightwing’ and the always popular ‘Hack/Slash’ series.” With a store inventory exceeding one hundred thousand titles, Ramos is excited to sponsor this multi-faceted event. “We’ll have multiple titles to give away, music, some cos-play costuming, and pizza! To top it off, artist Viktor Farrow of ‘Godzilla’ fame is also scheduled to appear. This is one of the premier comic book events of the year!” Ramos is well-versed in comic book history. As a long-time fan and collector, Ramos is also a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years experience.He has merged his passion for comic books and psychology when working with young patients by integrating discussions on humanity, responsibility and empathy. “Some of the best comic books, such as the Marvel comics, have always included examples of goodwill and honesty,” Ramos says.
