Christmas for the Homeless at Community Power Shower Event

Empower Shower Event for the homeless Friday, December 17 from 10 am to 2 pm at Willow Crystal Lake will celebrate Christmas.

The many agencies and organizations that provide services to the McHenry County homeless population will share a special Christmas and Winter Holiday celebration with their friends and clients this Friday, December 17 at Willow Crystal Lake, 100 S. Main Street from 10 am to 2 pm.

Community Empower Showers provides wide ranging services for the homeless and those who are facing housing crisis are held on the first and third Fridays of each month.

Compassion for Campers, the organization that provides camping gear, supplies, cold weather gear, non-perishable food and personal hygiene items will be on hand. As winter has closed in they have been serving record numbers of clients at each event.

Contributions to support Compassion for Campers are urgently needed to continue to purchase supplies can be made by sending a check made out to Tree of Life UU Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road, McHenry, IL 60050 with Compassion for Campers on the memo line. The donations are placed in a dedicated fund and not used for any other purpose. Tree of Life also donates all the administrative expenses of the program so 100% of all donations go directly to client assistance.
