The Crystal Lake Kiwanis Club recently donated two Little Free Libraries
to the Crystal Lake Park District. Ribbon cuttings were held on August
11 at Veteran Acres Park and Feinberg Park to celebrate the new
installations. The Little Free Library at Veteran Acres Park was
featured on a float in the Independence Day Parade before installation.
It is double sized to provide space for larger books. The Little Free
Library at Feinberg Park was conceived and constructed by the Houk
Family who live nearby. Both libraries are available to all – everyone
who takes a book is encouraged to leave a book. Other Little Free
Libraries throughout the park district are located at Main Beach, the
Nature Center, Hill Farm Park and Ladd Park.
