Class of 2015 Continues Education in 39 States & Germany

Nearly 92 percent of District 155's Class of 2015 is continuing its studies at four-year and two-year colleges and trade schools.

Nearly 92 percent of the Class of 2015 is continuing its studies at four-year and two-year colleges and trade schools. Nearly 65 percent of students are pursuing degrees at four-year colleges and universities around the world. The Class of 2015 continued its studies at post-secondary institutions in 39 of the 50 states. One student is attending Hochschule Furtwangen University in Germany.


“Our students continue to achieve high standards and pursue their studies at top universities and colleges. District 155 is focused on challenging students and expanding learning opportunities to engage students and prepare them for their future endeavours,” said. Dr. Johnnie Thomas, superintendent.

Thirty-four percent of the Class of 2015’s college-bound graduates continued their education at a school ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s top 125 colleges and universities.

Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign are the top three schools the class of 2015 is attending.

Students are most interested in studying medicine/health care, engineering, and business. Thirty-eight percent of D155’s Class of 2015 intend to pursue a STEM Career.

Results show more students felt connected with their teachers. Nine-five percent of students said their teachers used technology in the classroom on a daily basis.

Eighty-seven percent of the class of 2015 participated in at least one extracurricular activity.

  • 32% - Arts
  • 45% - Academic
  • 63% - Athletics

Just over 47 percent participated in a school-sponsored volunteer/community service project.


Community High School District 155 has conducted a uniform, district-wide senior survey for the last eight year. The survey captured information from 1,527 of the 1,695 graduates of the class of 2015.
