Community Garden Plots Available at the CL Park District

Available to Residents and Non-Residents

The Crystal Lake Park District offers a Community Garden at Hill Farm Acres at 695 Barlina Road, behind Barlina House Preschool in Crystal Lake. If you enjoy the outdoors, saving money and growing plants, you'll want to have one of our 20' by 40' garden plots! Flowers, vegetables, herbs, or whatever you desire, will grow well in the rich soil. Plots are available to both residents and non-residents.

Non-Resident Garden Plot Fee: $55 per plot/$40 senior citizen (ages 60+)

Resident Garden Plot Fee: $40 per plot/$20 senior citizen (ages 60+)

Feb 1-Feb 26: Returning gardeners register for same plot from last year

March 1-5: Returning gardeners register and may switch to a new plot

March 8: Registration is open to all Park District Residents

Beginning March 15: Registration is open to the public

The growing season is from whenever the soil is able to be cultivated (typically around May 1) until October 31. Complete soil preparation and garden plot guidelines are available at the time of plot reservation. Register in person only at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office at One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake. Office hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5 pm, Saturdays (April-August), 9:30 am-Noon. For more information call (815) 459-0680.
