CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The home on South Dole Avenue where authorities say 5-year-old AJ Freund was beaten to death by his parents could be torn down at some point in the next 30 days. On Monday, the Crystal Lake City Council voted in favor of accepting an offer by Green Demolition Contractors Inc. to demolish the property at no cost, according to the Northwest Herald.

“It’s a sad deal,” Mike Brough, owner of Green Demolition, said. “People need to start thinking about doing the right thing. Our world’s not getting to be a better place; perhaps if more people did selfless acts, the world would get better.”
