Construction On Crystal Lake's First Roundabouts Planned For Spring
An open house on the Congress Parkway roundabout project will be held Wednesday evening.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — An open house will be held Wednesday evening regarding planned roundabouts on Congress Parkway in Crystal Lake.
Crystal Lake's first roundabouts are being planned for the intersections of Congress Parkway and Federal Drive and Congress Parkway and Exchange Drive. An open house, where residents can learn more about the project and share their thoughts, will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at city hall, 100 W. Woodstock St. in Crystal Lake.
City officials say the circular design of roundabouts have several advantages over signalized intersections and are considered safer and allow more traffic to flow through them, according to a news release. The roundabouts are also meant to accommodate pedestrians and bicycles.
