Coroner IDs Local Man, 27, Killed In Huntley Crash

A visitation and funeral service for Julian M. Torres are set for Sunday and Monday.

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane County Coroner's Office has identified Julian M. Torres as the 27-year-old man killed in a Monday morning crash on Route 47 in Huntley.

Preliminary results from an autopsy on Torres revealed he died from multiple injuries sustained in the collision, which occurred about 5:25 a.m. north of Regency Square Parkway.

Torres was driving northbound in a 1999 Acura TL when his car collided with a southbound 2016 GMC Sierra pickup, according to Huntley police. The driver of the GMC was taken to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley, authorities said. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Route 47 were closed following the collision.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A visitation for Torres, who is listed in his obituary as a Crystal Lake resident, will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Road in Algonquin. A prayer service and time of sharing will be held at 7 p.m.

Prayers will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
