Coroner IDs Man Killed In Wrong-Way Crash In Fox Lake
The collision happened Thursday on Highway 12 north of Route 134 in Fox Lake. Anthony Herrera, 21, of Wauconda was killed in the collision.
FOX LAKE, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a 21-year-old man killed last week in a wrong-way collision in Fox Lake.
Preliminary results from the autopsy show Anthony Herrera of Wauconda died from blunt force injuries sustained in the collision, which happened at about 9:40 p.m. Thursday on Route 12 north of Route 134, according to authorities.
Police say Herrera was driving a Ford van north on Highway 12 near Route 134 when it crashed with a black Cadillac, which was driving south in the northbound lanes of traffic.

Herrera was taken to Condell Medical Center in critical condition and later died at the hospital, according to the news release. The driver of the Cadillac, a 48-year-old man was hospitalized and later listed in stable condition. He sustained some cuts and possible fractures.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation
