Coroner IDs Woman Killed In Port Barrington Crash
Ann Tuszynski has been identified as the 87-year-old woman killed in the Wednesday collision on Waterview Court.
LAKE BARRINGTON, IL — An 87-year-old Lake Barrington woman who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Lake Barrington Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Ann Tuszynski.
The collision happened at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday when a Nissan Altima headed north on Waterview Court in Lake Barrington, accelerated and drove off the road and into a yard, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The car hit a garbage can and trees in the 100 block of Waterview Court, and the woman, who has been identified as Tuszynski, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. Preliminary results from an autopsy show Tuszynski died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash.

Nobody else was involved in the collision or injured.
Traffic crash investigators are investigating if Tuszynski unintentionally pressed the gas pedal, instead of the brake pedal, causing the vehicle to accelerate, police said.
