Coroner Uses Dental Records to ID Man, 20, Killed in Crash
The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified the 20-year-old Woodstock man killed in the crash early Sunday.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL - Dental records were used to identify a person killed when a car collided with a tree on Lamb Road north of Woodstock early Sunday. The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified the driver, and sole occupant, in the single-vehicle crash as Omar Ocampo, 20, of Woodstock. The crash happened in the 1500 block of Lamb Road in unincorporated Hartland Township on May 7, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
A preliminary investigation indicated a car traveling south on Lamb Road left the roadway while navigating a curve. The car collided with a tree and caught fire, according to authorities.
The passerby reported the car fire to authorities at about 3:40 a.m. on May 7, McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said in a news release. The fire was promptly extinguished but resulted in significant damage to the vehicle. Authorities did not immediately know the identity of the person killed in the crash and had to use dental records to ID him.

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, police said. Due to the damage to the vehicle, it was also not readily apparent if airbags deployed or if a seat belt was used.
The final cause and manner of death are "pending further studies," Majewski said.
