Crystal Lake Police: Beware of Phone Scammers
Police said scammers have been calling, asking people to provide their credit card number to pay a fine.

The Crystal Lake Police Department is cautioning residents about a recent phone scam.
Police said to be cautious if you receive a phone call where the person asks you to pay a fine via credit card, according to a Crystal Lake Police Department press release. The person(s) may identify themselves as an agent from a collection agency or a law firm.
Residents should ask for company name, address, phone number, and research the validity of the company via the Internet, according to police. Do not rush to make any payments.
