Crystal Lake Police Department Will Host Free Child Safety Seat Inspection
About 90 percent of child safety seats are installed incorrectly.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - The Crystal Lake Police Department has partnered with McHenry County Safe Kids and the Crystal Lake Target to host a free child safety seat inspection on Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Crystal Lake Target.
Approximately 90 percent of child safety seats are installed incorrectly, Crystal Lake Police reported. The child safety seat inspection aims to increase awareness, help educate parents, and keep children safe. When used correctly, child safety seats are one of the most vital and simplest ways to protect children while traveling in motor vehicles.
Child Passenger Seat Safety technicians will be at the event to educate and assist parents and caregivers on how to correctly install and use child safety seats.
