Crystal Lake Police Issue 63 Tickets, Arrest 1 During Enforcement Mobilization
The local police department participated in the statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign in May.

The Crystal Lake Police Department handed out 63 traffic citations during a recent Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization.
From May 16 to 30, the Crystal Lake Police Department joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois in this annual effort to get more motorists to buckle their seatbelts, according to a Crystal Lake Police Department press release.
During the mobilization, The Crystal Lake Police Department stopped 79 motorists for traffic violations and issued a total of 63 traffic citations, which included:

- 34 citations for unlawful use of an electronic communications device
- 10 citations for speeding
- 10 safety belt citations
- 6 citations for other moving and non moving offenses
- 3 citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle
In addition, one person was arrested for driving while license suspended.
The recent law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through IDOT’s Division of Traffic Safety and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled over” and “Click it or Ticket” campaigns.
