Crystal Lake Police Release Results From Super Bowl Detail

Local officers were out in full force patrolling roadways over the Super Bowl weekend.

Crystal Lake, IL – The Crystal Lake Police Department had the following results from the recent Super Bowl enforcement campaign:

  • Stopped an additional 37 motorists for traffic violations
  • Issued a total of 33 additional traffic citations, which included:
    • 10 citations for unlawful use of an electronic communications device
    • 15 citations for speeding
    • 4 citations for failure to wear a seat belt
    • 2 citations for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle
    • 2 citations for other moving violations and equipment
  • Written warnings were issued for 6 vehicle code violations

The Super Bowl weekend “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” enforcement effort ran from Friday, Jan. 31, through the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 3.

The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
