Crystal Lake Police Search for Suspect Who Burglarized Cars at YMCA

The vehicle burglaries happened this past week at the Sage YMCA in Crystal Lake.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - The Crystal Lake Police Department is asking for the public’s help as they investigate several motor vehicle burglaries that occurred at the Sage YMCA this past week.

The police department was called to the YMCA, 701 Manor Road, at about 9:04 a.m. on Sept. 12 for a report of a male committing a vehicle burglary, according to a news release. The suspect had already fled the scene when police arrived and officers located five other vehicles with windows broken and items taken from inside.
Items stolen include the victims' purses and small amounts of cash, according to police.

Evidence was recovered from the scene and this case remains an active investigation, according to the news release.

The Crystal Lake Police Department is reminding the public to not only lock their car doors, but also to not leave any valuable items out in their vehicle.
