CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - Crystal Lake South grad Fahn Cooper got quite the 23rd birthday present this past weekend.
Cooper, an offensive lineman for Ole Miss, was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the 174th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, according to the 49ers.com.

Cooper told the Northwest Herald his mom, Caroline, ran around the room screaming when she heard the news and his father started crying. Cooper’s birthday was Saturday.
“It feels good,” Cooper told the Northwest Herald. “I’ve really just been trying to stay calm. My parents have been really, really excited and really emotional. I’m looking forward to the opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with my new teammates…”
