Crystal Lake Testing Tornado Sirens

Officials want residents to know the sirens could be accidentally activated during testing.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- The city of Crystal Lake is planning to test its outdoor tornado sirens starting on Monday, Jan. 14, and continuing through Wednesday, Jan. 16. During this time period, accidental activation of the sirens may occur. The testing will occur at all tornado siren posts in the city, according to officials.
