Vehicle Sticker Requirements

City of Crystal Lake residents are required to display a current vehicle sticker within 30 days of residency or within 15 days of acquiring a motor vehicle pursuant to the City of Crystal Lake City Code. All funds generated from the sale of vehicle stickers are used in the City’s Street Resurfacing and Reconstruction Program. Valid vehicle stickers also provide free parking at the Three Oaks Recreation area. Every year, new stickers are available for purchase on June 1st. Only vehicles registered in the City of Crystal Lake are eligible for Crystal Lake vehicle stickers.

Vehicle Stickers are available at City Hall, during normal business hours, beginning on Monday, June 1, 2020.

Senior Citizen Prices: Vehicle stickers will be issued to each senior citizen (65 or older) at a reduced rate of $1. Proof of age is required.

How to Purchase Vehicle Sticker

At the end of May, vehicle sticker renewal notices are mailed to residents. If your renewal notice does not contain information pertaining to the vehicle you currently own, please correct any errors or missing information. Return the notice to the City along with a copy of the Illinois vehicle registration and a copy of the vehicle owner's driver's license.

There are four ways to purchase vehicle stickers:

1. In-Person: The completed application, fee, and proof of ownership (if applicable), may be returned in-person at City Hall.
2. Online: To purchase online, you will need to enter the online purchase pin from your application. Click here to purchase online.
3. Via Mail: Send information to the City of Crystal Lake, Attn: Finance Department, 100 W. Woodstock Street, PO Box 597, Crystal Lake, IL 60039-0597.
4. Satellite Locations: Passenger and Senior Vehicle Stickers that do not require any changes to the pre-printed information on the renewal notice are available at the locations listed below. A convenience fee may apply.
