Crystal Lake West Bay Herbicide Treatment Scheduled

Scheduled for Tuesday, June 21

On Tuesday morning, June 21, 2016, Hey and Associates, Inc. will be conducting herbicide treatments of areas within the West Bay of Crystal Lake. The treatment areas in West Bay will include specific “in-pier” waters adjacent to the shoreline to approximately 50’ offshore, and areas well offshore near the no-wake buoys in the bay. These areas are to be treated with a granular form of a contact algaecide and aquatic herbicide to

control nuisance submerged vegetation.

Water use restrictions are as follows:

  • Do not use fish from treated areas for food or feed within 3 days after treatment from the “in-pier” areas to be treated (approx. 0’-50’ offshore)
  • Do not use water from the immediate treated areas for irrigation, sprays or for potable (drinking) water for a period of up to 14 days
  • No swimming restrictions are listed on the product label

Treatment signs will be posted at the time of the treatment in each individual lot where the treatment is

to occur near the shoreline. Should the weather prevent this treatment from happening on the date listed above, the treatment will occur on the next business day that the weather allows. For more information contact Hey and Associates, Inc. at 847-740-0888.
