D47 Schools Return To Remote Learning
The Crystal Lake-based elementary school district has decide to nix its hybrid plan for now.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — District 47 students will join a growing number of school-aged children who will head back home to learn. At least, for now, school officials said Wednesday.
On Wednesday, District 47 in Crystal Lake announced it would revert to remote learning on Nov. 2. The decision came on the same day the state ordered additional mitigations for Region 9, which includes Lake and McHenry counties, after a third day the positivity rate surpassed 8 percent.
The school district hopes to return to an in-person schedule for the second semester.

"We are all in agreement that face-to-face teaching and learning is what’s best for our students and we are all disappointed to have to temporarily suspend in-person instruction," said District 47 Superintendent Kathy Hinz.
