Dozens Stopped For Halloween Traffic Violations In Crystal Lake

The Crystal Lake Police Department has released numbers after its Halloween Crackdown to Save Lives.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — More than two dozen drivers were stopped for traffic violations and another two dozen received traffic citations as part of the Crystal Lake Department's Halloween crackdown on unsafe driving, police said. The department participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program over the Halloween weekend, dubbed “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over / Click It or Ticket”.

Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in the statewide effort from Oct. 26 through Nov. 1 to save lives by encouraging people to buckle up and stay sober while driving, especially during late-night hours.

Throughout the crackdown, officers continued to patrol the city, respond to calls for service and conduct daily traffic enforcement efforts, the department said.
