Driver, 21, Dies After Falling From Moving Truck

Joshua M. Trepanier fell from the vehicle while moving from the driver's seat to the bed of the truck, police said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL -- A 21-year-old Harvard man was killed when he moved from the cab of a moving truck into the truck bed and fell onto the roadway, according to police. Authorities were called to the scene of the crash on Crowley Road near Harvard Hills Road at about 9:35 p.m. Saturday for the incident. There were two passengers in the truck that were not injured.

The man who fell out of the truck has been identified as Joshua M. Trepanier, 21, of Harvard, according to a news release from the McHenry County Coroner's Office. Trepanier's body was found about 500 feet west of Harvard Hill Road on Crowley Road. Trepanier was driving the truck when he got out of the truck to move to the back truck bed, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:07 p.m.

An autopsy will be performed Tuesday morning.

The crash remains under investigation by the Harvard Police Department and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Accident Investigation Unit was also called in to assist with the investigation.
