Artist Sandra Ferguson will be exhibiting her “Doorways to Adventure” series at The Inspired Art Studio during the month of September.

These paintings feature unusual doorways she has discovered in her travels around the United States as well as several from Greek islands.  They represent doorways to adventure, intrigue, the future, whatever triggers the imagination for what lies beyond.  Most of the works are in acrylic and several are oils.  In addition, a smaller collection of landscapes will be exhibited.

Ms. Ferguson paints primarily in acrylics, but also in oils and pastels.  She has been exhibiting her paintings at juried shows, some of which include the Norris Gallery’s “Vicinity,” “Surface Explorations,” “Urban Visions” and “Watercolor” (Watermedia) shows in St. Charles, IL, the “Affair of the Arts” in Spring Grove, IL, and the Land Conservancy of McHenry County’s “Art of the Land” show in Harvard, IL.  She is a featured artist in the Northwest Area Arts Council’s Calendar for 2011 and 2012.  She is a member of the Northland Area Art League and the Northwest Area Arts Council.
