Sweetwater in Woodstock Hosts Grand Opening of New Homes Targeted to Renters  

 Centex, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, is launching a new product line, the Independence Series to target renters who want to move to home ownership by providing a home for the same all in monthly payment as rent. The never-before-seen product line will be introduced at its Sweetwater community in Woodstock on Saturday, May 19.

The Independence Series feature five floor plans. With names like Aspire, Ambition, Spirit, Courage and Valor, buyers can find the perfect home to meet their family’s needs. The Series offers both single- and two-story homes, ranging in square footage from 1,309 to 2,261 with 2-4 bedrooms, and a two-car attached garage. Depending on the floor plan, the new homes may feature many of the must-haves for today’s young families, including mud rooms, large closets, and open living/kitchen areas. Additionally, all homes feature a full basement, adding significant square footage to the home. Price ranges from $129,990 to $169,990.

With homes starting at the $129,990 – a total monthly payment starting from $1,031, the comparison of owning versus renting can be very compelling. “More expensive rental rates are beginning to tip the scale toward homeownership,” said Maria Wilhelm, vice president of sales for Centex. “When buyers take a look at the tremendous value built into each floor plan that gives them just the right home to fit their needs, owning a home may make more sense.”

Chicago is one of three markets piloting the new product line, with several additional markets launching over the next 6-12 months.
