Fire Breaks Out At McHenry Apartment Building
No one was injured when a fire broke out at the three-story building on Wednesday.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — No one was injured when a fire broke out in a three-story apartment building in McHenry on Wednesday, fire officials said.
Firefighters were called to the 3300 block of Elm Street where they found the blaze in a second floor apartment and evacuated the building. The fire was extinguished in 10 minutes.
The majority of the apartment building remains habitable except for the one apartment where the fire started. The blaze caused about $10,000 in damage, and the Red Cross was called to assist a resident with housing.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District is investigating the cause of the blaze, which they have determined it is not suspicious in nature.
