Former City Councilor Dies At Age 90
Ralph Dawson, who spent more than 21 years on the Crystal Lake City Council, died Thursday, city officials said.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A longtime Crystal Lake city councilor died at the age of 90 on Thursday. Ralph Dawson had just retired from an almost 21-year stint on the Crystal Lake City Council on Jan. 21, according to city of Crystal Lake Facebook post.
Dawson is known for helping spearhead the development of Three Oaks Recreation Area and was an integral part of the renovation and construction of the city's municipal complex, according to city officials.
"Dawson, who graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School, truly cared about Crystal Lake and its residents, and worked tirelessly to serve the community," according to the city's Facebook post. "As a City Council member, he strived to help Crystal Lake keep moving forward in a fiscally responsible manner, attracting and retaining business, industry and commercial development."
