Girl Pulled From Water At Three Oaks Meets Her Rescuers
Bella, 6, was found face down in the water at the beach at Three Oaks Recreation area last month.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – The 6-year-old girl who was found face down in the water at Three Oaks Recreation Area got the chance to meet those who rescued her this past week. Bella and her family stopped out to city hall on Wednesday afternoon where they met some of the paramedics, lifeguard, 911 telecommunicator and a beach patron who came to Bella's aid on July 17, according to a post from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department Facebook page.
"Bella, you hold a special place in our hearts and we are incredibly grateful to see you doing so well," fire officials wrote on the Facebook page.

Authorities were called to the popular recreation area, which includes a beach, at 5517 Northwest Highway, at about 12:51 p.m on July 17. The girl was pulled from the water by witnesses, who worked with a lifeguard to perform CPR on the 6-year-old, according to a news release from Crystal Lake Police.

Paramedics arrived at the beach and provided "advanced life support treatment" to the juvenile. She was taken by ambulance with her family to Huntley Centegra Hospital.
The girl was breathing and had a heartbeat when she was taken to the hospital, Crystal Lake Police Deputy Chief Thomas Kotlowski told Patch. She was taken by helicopter to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in stable condition, police said Tuesday afternoon.
