A Golden Night under the Golden Arches for Cotton Creek School

Cotton Creek School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the school.

Island Lake|Cotton Creek School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the school.

Twenty-nine teachers and support staff from Cotton Creek volunteered behind the counter and at the Drive-Thru on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Island Lake McDonald's located on State St., where they served students and their families in a fundraiser.

Teachers Quach, Hergog, Falk and many others worked hard selling pies. Many Cotton Creek teachers worked behind the counter while teachers Paloucek and Fahrner worked hard at the drive-thru. Principal Kelly and Assistant Principal Dickert were at the event the entire night talking with families and taking lots of pictures with the kids. Teacher Sara Penelle started out the night in the Apple Pie Box Costume and set the bar for the night.

The proceeds from the 240 pies sold went directly to benefit the Cotton Creek School children. A percentage of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were also donated directly to Cotton Creek. The school plans to use the money raised for school assemblies.

Nondas Plesiotis, Owner/Operator of the Island Lake McDonald's is delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
