Heavy Rain Leaves Hazardous Road Conditions In McHenry Co.

Officials in McHenry County are urging drivers to use extreme caution.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is urging drivers to use extreme caution while traveling on roads throughout the county after heavy rainfall has left hazardous conditions, according to a Nixle alert sent at 7:20 p.m. Authorities cautioned motorists to avoid Route 23 between Marengo and Harvard. Sheriff's office officials also said to travel slowly along Route 14 from Woodstock to the Wisconsin-Illinois border as water is covering the roadway in areas.

"All the roadway authorities have been notified of the water hazards on their roads," according to the Nixle alert. "Please use extreme caution while traveling."
