Heroes Like Haley 5K to Benefit Local Children Battling Pediatric Cancer

2nd Annual Heroes Like Haley 5k | July 10, 2016

Heroes Like Haley is a Illinois based 501(c)(c3) charitable organization. Founded in 2015, in memory of Haley Lichter, a 2013 Cary Grove HS Graduate, diagnosed with an aggressive, rare form of brain cancer - Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma Grade 3, on January 15, 2015 she lost her battle with cancer. Our Board of Directors is dedicated to raising community awareness towards pediatric brain tumors, implementing college scholarships for Cary Grove High School students, providing financial support and improving the quality of life for local pediatric cancer patients, survivors and families.

This year we will be sponsoring two Cary Grove children fighting pediatric cancer. McKai, age 8 months, diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma & Brock, 8 years old, diagnosed with Leukemia. We will also be helping two adult women who live in Cary with brain tumors. Last year with the help of our sponsors and over 400+ participants we raised over $30,000 for pediatric cancer. Help us, help these families within our own community.

On July 10, 2016 we are hosting our 2nd Annual Heroes Like Haley 5k at Cary Grove Park. This is a family fun event for novice runners / walkers of any age and includes a chip timed 5K course for the advanced runner. We are a USATF sanctioned event Kids aged 4-8 that do not want to run in the 5k can participate in a free fun run. Custom inaugural race medal and t-shirts for all paid pre-registered participants. We also have bounce houses, face painters, ice cream and more!
