High Winds Fuel Flames In Weekend House Fire
The home in McHenry is currently uninhabitable, and damage estimates are expected to exceed $500,000.
MCHENRY, IL — Several fire departments responded to help battle a blaze at a large two-story home in McHenry Saturday. No one was injured in the fire in the 6700 block of Burning Tree Circle in McHenry but high winds fueled the flames making it hard for fire crews to extinguish, according to a news release from the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.
Everyone inside the home was able to get out before firefighters arrived at the scene at about 8:50 p.m., according to the news release. The home is currently uninhabitable, and damage estimates are expected to exceed $500,000.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the McHenry Township Fire Protection District and the McHenry Police Department.
