
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – No one was injured when a fire broke out at a home in Crystal Lake Friday evening. The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to the 1300 block of North Avenue in Crystal Lake at 5:42 p.m. for a report of smoke coming from the roof of the residence, fire officials said. Fire crews first at the scene found light smoke coming from the roof near the chimney.
The blaze was quickly extinguished. Damage was limited to the roof area of the building, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.
No one was injured and the fire caused an estimated $15,000 in damage, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
