Home of the Sparrow Presents Annual Holiday Giving Program

Woodstock, Ill. (November 1, 2024) – This holiday season, Home of the Sparrow (HOS) invites the
community to spread hope and cheer through its annual Holiday Giving Program. With homelessness on
the rise, the program offers an impactful way to support local women, children, and individuals
experiencing hardship.
Community members can choose from several giving options:
● Gift of Hope: Monetary donations that directly transform lives, providing vital resources to those in need. Thanks to a generous donor, all Gift of Hope donations will be matched up to $50,000, doubling the impact and bringing even more support to those experiencing homelessness.
● Adopt-a-Family: Participants can “adopt” a family, fulfilling their holiday wish list, and ensuring they experience the joys of the holiday season.
● Gift of Opportunity: Donations of essential shelter items, such as toiletries, winter clothing, and
household goods from the Shelter Needs Wish List.
● Giving Tree Program: HOS partners with local businesses to set up Giving Trees where donors
can select and purchase wish-list items for children and families.

“The Holiday Giving Program is about more than just gifts; it’s about offering hope, dignity, and warmth to those who need it most,” says Holly Dorn, the Director of Development at Home of the Sparrow. “It’s incredible to see the impact the generosity from our community makes on our families.”All donations and gifts will be accepted through December 30th, 2024. By supporting HOS this holiday season, participants from the community can ensure that women, children, and individuals experiencing homelessness will have a brighter holiday season and a stronger start to the new year.
