Home Uninhabitable, Firefighter Injured in Blaze
The blaze happened Sunday afternoon in unincorporated McHenry.

The cause of a fire that damaged a home in unincorporated McHenry Sunday afternoon is under investigation.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 1204 S. Crystal Lake Road at 1:27 p.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, they found smoke coming from all parts of the single-family ranch-style home, according to a press release.
The occupant of the home was able to safely get out of the home and firefighters got the blaze under the control within 15 minutes, according to the news release.

The blaze caused $150,000 in damage. The house has been deemed uninhabitable.
One firefighter received a minor injury and was taken to Centegra Hospital in McHenry where he was treated and released.

The fire is under investigation by the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.
