Homeless Man Charged With Stalking After Forcing His Way Into Cary Home
Police said the man intended to harm the victim inside the home.

CARY, IL - A homeless man faces stalking and burglary charges after police said he forced his way into a home in Cary this past week in an attempt to harm another person.
Salvador Herrera, 39, is charged with a violation of order of protection, residential burglary, criminal trespassing to a residence and aggravated stalking.
Cary police responded to a home on Silver Tree Circle at about 9 a.m. on Wednesday for a report of a domestic disturbance, police said.

Police learned Herrera had attempted to force his way into the home. He had fled the scene when officers arrived and was found a short time later in Lion’s Park where he was taken into custody.
No one was injured. Police learned an order of protection was active against Herrera, which protected the victim as well as the address where the domestic disturbance occurred, according to the news release.

Herrera was taken to the McHenry County Jail. A bond hearing and court date will be set by a judge.
