Husband, Wife Killed in McHenry County Crash
John S. Korkowski and Claire D. Korkowski died over the weekend following a crash in unincorporated McHenry.
MCHENRY, IL - A Spring Grove couple was killed Saturday evening in a crash in unincorporated McHenry.
John S. Korkowski, 67, and his wife, Claire D. Korkowski, 59, were traveling in a vehicle north on South Solon Road just north of Ringwood Road in unincorporated McHenry. A vehicle struck them, causing the Korkowski’s vehicle to veer off the roadway and then reenter the roadway in the southbound lane, according to a press release from the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
The husband and wife were pronounced dead at about 10:30 p.m.

Autopsies will be conducted on Tuesday to determine cause of death, according to the coroner’s office.
The accident remains under investigation by McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Accident Investigation Unit.
