John D. Bachmann, 78, of Crystal Lake; CFO for Black Dot

John D. Bachmann passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Chicago.

John was CFO at Black Dot in Crystal Lake for 31 years, he retired in 1999.

John is survived by his children; Ellen (David) Burg, Paula (Walt) Muntzenberger, and Tom (Robyn) Bachmann, brothers Jim (Gee Gee), and Bob (Nancy) Bachmann, brother-in-law- Tony Viola, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Diane (nee Gilmore) parents; Harold and Lucille (nee Dearing) Bachmann, and sister Peggy Viola.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 8, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, with a visitation from 9 am until the time of the Mass at 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake.

Interment is private.
