Kids Left Unsupervised In Home With Mold, Collapsed Roof: Police
A man and woman now face child endangerment charges following the Wednesday evening police call to the home on Central Street in McHenry.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – Two McHenry children are now living with a relative after authorities found their mother lying in a roadway, allegedly due to her level of intoxication; a man inside their home lying in vomit; and the home itself in deplorable conditions, according to the Northwest Herald. After police responded to a report of the 28-year-old woman lying in a road near her home in the 2000 block of Central Street, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was called for a well-being check. Officials found mold in multiple rooms in the residence where the children, who are both under the age of 10 years old, were staying unsupervised Wednesday evening and also found a room with a collapsed ceiling, according to the article
Nicole A. Vaxmonsky, 28, and Michael J. Picard, 28, were both taken to a hospital following the incident and then to the McHenry County Jail. They face child endangerment charges and have since been released from custody after posting bail, according to online jail records.
Neither children were harmed and city code enforcement officials in McHenry deemed the home uninhabitable, according to the Northwest Herald.
