Large Brush Fire Spans Acres In Bull Valley: Authorities

Firefighters took 30 minutes to get the brush fire under control.

WOODSTOCK, IL — Winds fueled a large brush fire that covered nearly two acres of land before it was put out Wednesday in Bull Valley, fire officials said.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the reported brush fire in the 200 block of Cold Springs Road in Bull Valley at about 9:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found a long driveway leading to the property, which posed initial challenges for access and water supply, fire officials said.

Once on scene, crews found a brush fire covering about 1 to 2 acres and spreading rapidly due to strong winds, according to a news release.
