Local Charities Can Register Now For McHenry Co. Human Race

​Charities serving McHenry County should register now to participate in the April 22, 2018 McHenry County Human Race.

Charities serving McHenry County should register now to participate in the April 22, 2018 McHenry County Human Race. Registration is at www.mchumanrace.org. Beginning Dec 1, 2014 runners and walkers will be able register.

This unique family friendly 5K walk/run allows race participants to designate which participating organization will receive the proceeds of their race registration fee and any fundraising they do. Every individual participating makes a difference!

The 8th annual Human Race takes place April 22, 2018 at the McHenry County College Campus in Crystal Lake. Over 1,100 racers are expected to participate. Individuals participating in the race and their supporters will also be able to meet and greet with participating charities, and a few local venders supporting the race.

Volunteer Center Mchenry County provides $2,400.00 in prize money for agencies. Prizes include the $600 McHenry County Community Foundation Award that comes with a traveling trophy. This goes to the organization with the most runners and walkers. Presently Helping Paws of McHenry County holds the traveling trophy.

The Human Race raises money to benefit local charities and promote volunteerism. Last year’s race supported over 70 charities. The race has a hero theme. Many racers come in costume.

December 1 registration opens for runners and walkers with an “early” registration fee. For more information about the Human Race go to the website or call 815-344-4483. The race is organized by Volunteer Center McHenry County, a one stop shop for resourcing local nonprofit organizations.
