Longtime McHenry Resident WIns $400,000 Lottery Prize
Charlotte Kumm won big in recent weeks.
MCHENRY, IL - Charlotte Kumm, a 40-year resident of McHenry, recently won $400,000 in the Illinois Lottery.
“I often dreamed about winning the Lottery, then being mortgage-free, and now my dream has come true!” Charlotte Kumm said when she presented her winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines.
Kumm matched all five numbers on her winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket to win the $400,000 jackpot prize in the April 30 drawing.

Originally from Woodstock, Kumm has lived in McHenry for 40 years. She plans to use the windfall to pay off her mortgage and make home improvements.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sunnyside Little Store, 4304 North Johnsburg Road, in McHenry.

The retailer received a bonus of $4,000, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.
